Salwa is a residential area close to the sea belonging to Hawally Governorate in Kuwait, and it was founded by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. It was also said that the name was given in relation to Sheikha Salwa Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the only daughter of the fifteenth Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
