Daiya is a residential area in Al-Asimah Governorate (Capital) in Kuwait. It was named in relation to the first inhabitant of it, Sheikh Duaij Al-Salman Al-Sabah. “Duaij” is pronounced in the dialect of “Daa’i”, where the “J” is changed to “i”, and from there came the name of “Da’iya”. Daiya consists of 5 blocks, and it contains thousands of homes that are inhabited or rented by Kuwaiti citizens. As for block number 5, which is close to the sea, the new Hessa Al-Mubarak suburb will be located, which will include markets, offices, apartments, and other services.
