Khaitan is one of Kuwait areas that belongs to Al-Farwaniya Governorate. It was named in relation to Khaitan Al-Otaibi, who was a farmer in this area. Some formerly called parts of the Khaitan area B (Abraq Khaitan), and the reason is that Khaitan Al-Otaibi was high above the ground, so people would see it and say Abraq Khaitan (Abraq means back).
